Q. I know Rusk State park has a good small lake and the Neches River has some good pools but I would like to know other spots I agree Texas has great lakes. I have a 15 foot Jon boat with a 15 horse 4 cycle engine for lakes like Palestine, Lake Tyler, Caddoo Lake Sam Rayburn, Whitney Cleaburn, Cedar Creek Lake fork etc. I want small ponds for my float tube. I will probably use it a lot at tyler State Park as I live near it and go there very often. But still for float tubing I prefer small ponds. I have fished the large lakes 40 years and know most of them. I just don't know of any small ponds. People think it is okay to hurt animals in general because they are "just animals" which is absolute bullcrud. We need to raise the penalties for animal abuse, endangerment, and neglect. From the information provided, I do want to mention that I think the person that shot the cat and the owner of the cat should both be punished, because if the cat was inside, he would not have been in the position to be shot. The ASPCA is also working to increase penalties for animal related crimes, hopefully making these instances felanies.
